Another year older and all that June has to offer…

May was a quiet month for me - after finishing up the last of the edits on Curse of the Wild and sending the manuscript to my brilliant formatter, and nailing the book cover with my designer, I have to admit; I took time off.

I can’t say what I did - I read, cooked, walked a lot, and played video games for hours. Spent sunny afternoons in my allotment trying to dig up all the weeds and constantly feeling like I was failing, all the while, feeling full to the brim with excitement that CotW was rolling forwards!

At the end of the month and the start of June, we went on holiday to Amsterdam - the first trip abroad me and my boyfriend have been in on ten years, not including a family holiday to Australia for my sister’s wedding.

It was both terrifying, because as much as I love to plan books and imagine places… planning trips and going to places fills me with anxiety. But we did it, and I spent my birthday wandering around the botanical gardens and eating delicious vegan food in a foreign city. It was a dream, to be honest, and one that I plan on having again in the near future.

Coming back to reality was hard, but the work starts again as we lead up to the launch of Curse of the Wild in July!

I have just received the formatted document back, with which I am now to go over again with a fine-tooth comb and find all my little errors. I am sure there will be many. Along with reading the document again, I’m going to be grabbing a paperback version to check out how it looks IRL… and I think I’m going to pick a gloss cover. It just seems right, with how bright it is and everything - the colours will pop in a gloss, I expect!

Is that all I’m working on this month? It should be, but I desperately want to finish up some character art for the book release, as well as plot out the next instalment of Seven Princes, so I guess we will see just how fast I can read my own book. Did I mention it’s 413 pages long?
