Cozy writing
This weekend, for the first time in a long time, I went to a coffee shop and worked for hours.
It is probably not the best time for ‘frivolous’ spending by any stretch of the imagination but oftentimes it’s so much easier to get into ‘work mode’ when you aren’t also in ‘house mode’. I don’t know about you, but ‘house mode’ often includes lots of distractions that always ends in cleaning the kitchen, no matter how recently I feel I already cleaned the kitchen.
Ah the perils of not being rich enough to hire a cleaner!
At the moment I’m editing my NaNoWriMo novel from last year. I was totally in love with it when I first wrote it, and then I did the first edit, which made me still love it but also fear for the future of it because I knew the next edits were going to be BIG.
Now I’ve begun those edits I’m back to being excited about where I think I can take this story, and this time of year is always my favourite time to be working on my writing.
With October around the corner I will be planning my NaNo novel for this year, which is going to include lots of notebook writing, cozy planning vibes in various places around my hometown. I am, as always, drowning in my work in that I always want to do everything at once and it never pans out so, for now, I’m just focusing on these two projects and trying to find a good rhythm between editing and plotting.
Coffee, and tea, and pastries, and background music are all necessary.
